TRAINING PROGRAM AT THE KAMITI MAXIMUM PRISONS
Father’s Hand runs a Life-Skills Training Institute at the Kamiti Maximum Prison. The pilot Life-Skills Training Program was launched on February 6th, 2012 at the Kamiti Maximum Prisons. Following the launch, a total of 50 inmates from Kamiti Maximum Prison received diploma’s after graduating from a year’s training on the 26th of October, 2012.

This year, we expect to double the number of inmates receiving training and mentoring and we also expect to receive positive reports of improved inmate behaviour from welfare officers. This program is run in conjunction with the Non-profit organization, Help Child/ Mother Organization. Father’s Hand is currently working on expounding the above program to other prisons in Kenya, and eventually, outside of the prison walls.
